Alina Childers composes music and sound that blends narrative, emotion, and technology, creating immersive audio experiences for film, games, and digital media. Drawing on her classical training and a wide palette of acoustic, electronic, and interactive sounds, she designs hybrid scores that balance expressive storytelling with technical precision. Alina’s background as a classically trained pianist strongly informs and shapes her musical language. A collaborative artist, Alina thrives on exploring new sonic possibilities, integrating unconventional textures, coding, and sound systems to serve each project’s unique vision.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Screen Scoring at New York University’s Steinhardt School, where her projects have ranged from short films to indie games. Notable works include the game Maritime Drift, a game in ongoing development since 2025 with a small team (she is handling full composition, sound design, and audio implementation), the short film Silent Pull (2025), which screened at the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival and won Best Student Film, and Heart To He(art) (2025), which was featured in the Diamond Screen Film and Media Arts Festival in Philadelphia. For each project, she composed and mixed original music and contributed to the overall audio design. Her passion for sound extends beyond composition. She built this website herself using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, reflecting her interest in bridging music, sound, and interactive technology.
Alina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, where she developed her skills in orchestration, audio production, music theory, and programming. Beyond her creative work, Alina served as Vice President of ConTemplum, an academic student organization focused on composition, audio production, and music technology, where she organizes workshops, concerts, and professional development events while overseeing logistics and budgeting. During her studies, she co-founded an independent initiative providing professional recording opportunities for student composers, coordinating sessions, rehearsal schedules, and production logistics. She also teaches music theory, composition, and audio technology, mentoring students in both creative and technical practice.
Driven by curiosity and collaboration, Alina seeks projects that challenge her creatively and technically. She welcomes opportunities to craft music, sound design, and immersive audio experiences for new narratives and interactive worlds.
